Everybody's game for shower games. Now it's your job to think of something
unique and exciting for the future bride's bridal shower. Think outside
the box and look beyond the traditional bridal shower set up. Here are
three unique themes and locations that might spice up the upcoming party.
1. Spa-Themed Showers
Get it? A shower held at a spa! Either have the party at a spa or salon
or simply decorate the house to look like a giant spa. Activities could
include manicures and pedicures. Buy plenty of beauty products to add
authenticity to your spa party.
Gifts should relate to relaxation and spa treatments, and could include
a group contribution to a spa resort. Food should be light eating and
bites should easily be held with one hand; think roll ups, squares and
snacks. Dress code is very informal, casual or even pajamas. Don't forget
the pillows!
2. Chocolate Party
What does every girl love? (Besides Johnny Depp?) For a great idea that
can't easily be melted, consider a chocolate party.
Invitations should be chocolate colored and as much as possible the room
decorated with dark furnishings, for a chocolate-like atmosphere. Activities
are the most important detail: buy plenty of chocolate assortments for
group tasting.
Instruct your guest to start sampling the mildest forms of chocolate to
the darkest and most intense flavors. Gifts could include baking tools
for candy making, chocolate to take home, or even a subscription to the
chocolate of the month club. Dress code could be left up to each individual
chocolate lover-though extra kudos goes to the girl who shows up as the
Green M & M.
3. Lingerie Bridal Showers
The great thing about having a lingerie theme is that it can be as racy
or as classy as you'd like. Classy activities that can accompany a mature
lingerie party can include wine tasting or classic bridal shower games.
For a younger demographic, a racy shower can be a lot of fun.
One popular game is "What's In The Bag?" an adult version of hot potato
where a sexy item is put into a bag and passed from guest to guest. When
the time goes off the person holding the bag has to wear the item! (This
might not go well at a traditional shower) Decoration for either theme
could be lace and ribbons. Replace tablecloths with lace and put lace
around flower vases and chairs. Another quaint touch might be feather
boas for guests.
When it comes time for food? Think sexy and about natural aphrodisiacs.
Cocktails, oysters, almonds, mole sauce, and chocolate covered strawberries
or bananas are good choices.
When you're in charge of coming up with a unique idea, don't choose something boring and traditional. Give the girls what they asked for and really spice up the bridal shower.
